Marshall University’s English Language Institute (ELI) provides two tracks for international students to learn English at Marshall University.

Academic English is a semester-long program and prepares students to pursue higher education in the United States.

The General English track is a short-term, non-academic program designed to improve conversational English for social and professional situations.

At the ELI, you’ll also also develop appropriate academic skills and intercultural awareness through university resources and support.

Academic English

Begin your path to English proficiency with our in-person or online Academic English program. Our expert instructors guide you through tailored courses, helping you develop essential language skills, learn academic research methods and much more. This program aims to prepare students for academic study in English.
