Other positions held: News Anchor
Hometown: Chapmanville, WV
Major: Broadcast Journalism
Career goals: Reporter, anchor, PR practitioner for a big firm.
WMUL tenure began: Fall 2008
I first joined WMUL to help figure out what I wanted to do with my future and to get more involved with the J-school. I have done numerous things during my time at WMUL. I have been a newsbrief, weather reporter, news reporter, news anchor and a hip-hop DJ (which is quite humorous if you hear my southern accent.) Time spent at WMUL is definitly not wasted. I feel that working at WMUL has truely helped prepare me for the future, and was a huge help when I interned and worked at WSAZ. This is my first directors position and I am very excited to get started. The best advice I can give to someone is to stay involved within your major, it is the best thing you could do to help better your future.
Outside of WMUL I have a PR work study in the College of Fine Arts which I love since I love writing. I also love to spend time with my family and friends. Aside from director at WMUL I am a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. This semester I hope to even more involved with WMUL and the J-school which in my opinion is the best thing a journalism student could do.
