Services

Student Health Services at Marshall Health include the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and minor injuries such as:

  • Cough, cold, flu, sore throat, ear infections
  • Migraine, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Rash, minor allergic reactions
  • Sprains

Routine, non-surgical office procedures, limited lab and x-ray services and referrals to specialists if necessary are also offered.

Eligibilty/Costs

  • Full-time (6+ hours): Fully eligible for all services provided. No cost per visit.
  • Part-time (1-5 hours:) $20 per visit.
  • Limited lab, x-ray services.
  • Medications prescribed through the Student Health Clinic that are part of the student health drug formulary will cost students $5 or less. The Marshall Pharmacy location at the Marshall University Medical Center is open 365 days a year. Call 304-691-MURx for more information.
  • Dental care is also available through Marshall Dentistry & Oral Surgery. Discounts are available for students without insurance. Call 304-691-1247 to schedule a checkup. The Dentistry office is located in the Fairfield Building at 1616 13th Ave. in Huntington.

Transportation to Student Health

Free transportation is provided to students on all TTA bus routes including to the Student Health facilities.  Students must present their MUID when boarding TTA buses.  Students can download Route Shout 2.0 for route and schedule information.  For more information call 304-529-RIDE and speak with a TTA Dispatcher.

Going to Student Health Services:  Students board the Rt. 8 Hal Greer bus at the corner of 17th Street and 5th Avenue hourly.  You get off the bus on Hal Greer Blvd. at G.D. Ritzy’s and cross over to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Morning Schedule Hourly – 6:45 to 11:45              Afternoon Schedule Hourly – 1:15 to 6:15

Coming back to Campus from Student Health Services:  Board Rt. 1 Ceredo Kenova bus on Hal Greer Blvd on the Cabell Huntington Hospital side of Hal Greer Blvd.  You can catch the bus hourly across from G.D. Ritzy’s.  The bus will drop you off on 3rd Avenue.

Morning Schedule Hourly – 7:20 to 12:20              Afternoon Schedule Hourly – 1:50 to 6:50
