Recommendation Options

Recommendation Level Description
#1 Continuation of Program at Current Level  
#1a Continuation of Program at Current Level and Recommend Program for Resource Development. The program must have a clearly defined need for additional resources.
#2 Continuation of Program with Corrective Action. Progress Report due by November 1 of the next academic year.
#3 Continuation of Program on Probationary Status. The program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years or until the program demonstrates corrective action consistent with recommendation #1.
#3a Continuation of Program on Probationary Status and Recommend Program for Resource Development. The program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years or until the program demonstrates corrective action consistent with recommendation #1.
#3b Continuation of Program on Probationary Status and Recommend Program develop a cooperative program with another institution, or sharing course, facilities, faculty, and the like. The program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years consistent with recommendation #1.
#4 Sunset program after all students have completed the program. Only applicable for programs that have been on probationary status for four (4) years and have not shown substantial improvement to achieve recommendation #1.

Program has three (3) to four (4) Yellow Lights or one (1) to two (2) Red Lights. Recommendation #2: Continuation of Program with Corrective Action. Progress Report Corrective Action – Progress report by November 1 next academic year.
Program has five (5) or more Yellow Lights or three (3) or more Red Lights. Recommendation #3: Probationary Status for four (4) years with a yearly progress report. Program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years or until the program demonstrates corrective action consistent with recommendation #1.
Program has five (5) or more Yellow Lights or three (3) or more Red Lights, AND has a clearly defined need for additional resources to achieve success. Recommendation #3a: Probationary Status for four (4) years with a yearly progress report. Program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years or until the program demonstrates corrective action consistent with recommendation #1.
Program has five (5) or more Yellow Lights or three (3) or more Red Lights, AND is unlikely to achieve success as a stand-alone program. Recommendation #3b: Probationary Status for four (4) years with a yearly progress report. Program must submit a yearly progress report for four (4) consecutive years or until the program demonstrates corrective action consistent with recommendation #1.
Program has been on Probation for four (4) years and not improved to achieve Recommendation #1 Recommendation #4: Sunset program after all students have completed the program.
