Marshall has a long history of teacher preparation for those who wish to teach at the elementary school level. We have been training teachers since the 1860s. You will be working with caring faculty members who have been in the classroom and will help you develop the skills you need.
Marshall’s teacher education programs are fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP, formerly known as NCATE). This means you are assured that we have gone through a rigorous process that includes on-site reviews by a team of experts in the field of education.
There is a shortage of teachers both in West Virginia and across the country. The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that job growth in elementary education is expected to grow at about 7%–the average for all occupations.
