Program Overview

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering will require students to prepare a research proposal and dissertation in addition to limited graduate coursework. Students will be able to choose among concentrations in any of the different fields in the college, currently Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial and System Engineering.

An overview of research methodology, including basic concepts employed in quantitative and qualitative research, defining research problems, collecting, analyzing, recording, and interpreting data to prepare a proposal.
EM 660 - Project Management
Provides the student with a practical knowledge of how to integrate effectively the functional efforts of many in the execution of programs and projects.
EM 675 - Engineering Economics
The concepts and methods for the financial calculations involving time, value of money and uncertainty. Capital and departmental budgeting processes and engineering inputs to cost accounting.
