Freshman Student
Freshman Student
A freshman student is a student who has not enrolled in any college or university course following high school graduation and intends to seek an undergraduate degree.

Transfer Student
Transfer Student
A transfer student is a student who wishes to pursue a degree from Marshall University but who has previously enrolled at another college or university.

Transient Student
Transient Student
A transient student is as student who is pursuing a degree at another college or university but would like to take classes at Marshall University. A transient student may attend Marshall University for no more than two consecutive semesters.

Early Admission Student
Early Admission Student
An early admission student is a student in high school who wants to earn college credits prior to graduating high school. Please note that students who enroll at Marshall University to earn early credits prior to high school graduation have not been admitted as freshman and are not eligible for financial aid or on-campus housing.

Non-Degree Student
Non-Degree Student
A non-degree student is a student who has never enrolled in college and wants to take courses at Marshall University, but does not wish to pursue a degree.

College Graduate
College Graduate
A college graduate has earned a baccalaureate degree and would like to take additional undergraduate courses whether or not the student wishes to pursue a second baccalaureate degree.

Online/Distance Only Student
Online/Distance Only Student
An online/distance only student is a student who wishes to enroll in a degree program that’s offered completely online at Marshall University.

Readmitted Student
Readmitted Student
A readmitted student is a student who attended Marshall University at least one year ago and who has not enrolled at any college or university since being enrolled at Marshall.
