In her twenty-eight-year tenure as gallery director and now curator, Gremley has curated over one hundred and twenty exhibitions centered on craft-based materials. Recent curatorial projects include the Japan-based exhibition Tradition of Excellence: Japanese Techniques in Contemporary Metals Arts, and El Puente, which examines the arts diaspora through the lens of four artists from Puerto Rico.
Gremley also serves as a consultant for other arts organizations, assisting with curatorial projects, exhibition design, grant evaluations, serving as an exhibition juror, community arts projects, and arts writing. On campus, she works with Penland instructors, lecturing student groups on business practices and providing one-on-one assistance for artists.
Her relationship with the school spans forty-two years; beginning as a textile student in 1982, Penland Resident Artist 1983-1987, textile studio coordinator 1986-1993, textile instructor, and presently as staff member.
