Art has the power to transform spaces, elevate brand identity, and enrich communities. The School of Art & Design is proud to present an Art Loan program designed to make art more accessible in our community while supporting the students in our program.

Q. What is an Art Loan?

A. The Art Loan program is a highly customizable art rental service for your business space, tailored to unique styles and budgets.

Q. How does an Art Loan work?

A. The Art Loan operates as an annual contract that allows businesses to review a curated portfolio of artworks made by SOAD students, faculty, and alumni. Chosen artworks will then be professionally framed and installed with the option to be renewed annually, affording the opportunity to refresh your space with a new selection of works.

Q. Why the Art Loan program?

A. The primary goal of our Art Loan program is to create a vibrant local arts culture while fundraising to promote further learning opportunities for our students. Benefits for the business: Contemporary artworks at a fraction of the cost, a tax-deductible expense, and professionally framed and installed, with the option to renew to maintain a fresh, rotating selection of artworks in your space. Benefits for the school: Funds from the loan subsidize SOAD student participation in summer workshops, residencies, and other educational opportunities.

Q. How do I get started?

A. Businesses can complete the general interest form answering questions about their space, aesthetic, and budget to begin the conversation. You can also contact our Gallery Director, Courtney Chapman for further inquiry at courtney.chapman@marshall.edu.
