Band Camp Meals and Housing Information

Meals
Kappa Kappa Psi will provide dinner for all members beginning Friday evening through Monday. You will be responsible for breakfast and lunch on your own.

Housing
If you are registered for on-campus housing in the fall, you will be allowed to move into your assigned dorm on August 15th.

You will need to fill out this form so we can let housing know you’re coming: (please complete by August 1st)
https://forms.gle/BbJD3vgJk8gDxHrf7

We will notify housing that you will be moving in early for band camp. Please direct any specific questions about your housing to them. We don’t have any control over your dorm. Unfortunately, we cannot provide housing for students who don’t have on-campus housing in the fall.

Attendance
Our outstanding band organization did not gain its international reputation without the full attendance of its members. Accordingly, your perfect and timely attendance is expected to be the norm. Please print and keep the camp schedule for reference during band camp. Minor adjustments in the rehearsal schedule will occur as needed; however, the time parameters will not be expanded. Ask off from work NOW!

Equipment
Your instrument and equipment should be brought to each rehearsal (including our first meeting). You will need a pencil to mark your music and drill charts, and a wire stand for all music rehearsals. During rehearsals it is very important to wear only quality athletic footwear. Long practice hours will take a toll on your feet, so be prepared!

Uniforms:
Uniforms will be checked out during band camp week. In addition to your black uniform shoes, each student must purchase his or her own white uniform gloves ($3.00). Everyone wears the same type of shoe for the Marching Thunder. A representative will take orders for shoes during camp ($40).

Instruments
The instrument manager will check out university-owned instruments during the first meeting of band camp. All large instruments (Sousaphones, percussion, baritones and mellophones) are provided by the University free of charge. However, individuals are responsible for any damages. Please take care of our precious instruments!

Colorguard
Members will be required to purchase some personal items for use in the guard. Please be prepared to make these purchases upon arrival at camp. Please check with Maurica Smith for additional information.

Majorettes
Members will be required to purchase some personal items for use in the guard. Please be prepared to make these purchases upon arrival at camp. Please check with Kimberly Maynard for additional information.

You may contact the Band Directors at daltona@marshall.edu or stevensje@marshall.edu for general information.
