Dr. Christopher Schletter, Conductor
The Marshall University Symphonic Band is one of the fine ensembles performing core wind band repertoire, as well as some new works, available to us. Membership in the Symphonic Band is open to all Marshall University students, both music majors and non-majors. Rehearsals take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 1:00-1:50. Auditions are not required to be in the ensemble. However, we request that all students have a few years of experience and have the ability to read music.
We work to better ourselves through music, while we strive to reach exceptional music performance levels together. We encouraged members of the Symphonic Band to practice their parts on a regular basis outside of the scheduled rehearsals. The Symphonic Band presents two concerts each semester. In addition, we perform at the MU High School Honor Band Festival.
