Biography
Marlee Kaiser has had a passion for cymbal playing since she started in 2016. Originally a flute player, Marlee marched with the Marshall University Marching Thunder from 2016-2018 playing flute. It wasn’t until 2019 when she decided to help rebuild Marshall’s cymbal line and begin her career in marching percussion. Marlee was a member of Herd Beats from 2019 until she graduated in 2021 from Marshall with a B.A. in Art specializing in Music. During her time in college, she was also a member of The John Marshall Fife and Drum Corps.
Marlee was a member of Triple Crown indoor percussion playing synthesizer and cymbals, where she aged out of WGI in 2022 ending her career as a 1st place champion in the MEPA circuit as well as a WGI Independent Open class finalist.
After aging out, Marlee became the cymbal instructor with Dawson Bryant Indoor Percussion competing in the WGI Scholastic A class in which the group became the 2023 OIPA Scholastic A 1st place Champions, the group also made an appearance at WGI World Championships.
Marlee as well as the groups she has taught have been featured by the cymbal glove company “Seavine.”
Marlee looks forward to bringing exciting new techniques to cymbal playing in the Tri-State Area as well as to collegiate marching cymbal playing. Outside of teaching, Marlee enjoys creating artwork in her studio, cosplaying at local comic-cons and taking care of her cats.
