Wind Symphony

The Wind Symphony (MUSE 420) is Marshall University’s premier concert ensemble for wind and percussion students. Conducted by Dr. Phil Vallejo, this select ensemble is open to students of any major from throughout the university by audition and provides the opportunity to perform literature from the traditional and contemporary repertory.  Performers in this ensemble are held to high performance expectations and, as a result, are rewarded with an excellent musical experience.

The Wind Symphony performs numerous concerts during the school year, including the Marshall University Festival Band Weekend, which is sponsored by the band program.  In March, 2025, the Wind Symphony traveled to California to perform as the featured ensemble at the Dr. Lawrence R. Sutherland Wind Festival Gala Concert. In addition, they performed at La Sierra University and Long Beach State University.
