Dropping Classes at Marshall University
Students who drop one or more class(es) during the late registration/schedule adjustment period (first week of the semester) shall be eligible for a full reduction of tuition and fees of the dropped class(es) if the remaining tuition and fee assessment falls below 12 credit hours for undergraduate students or 9 credit hours for graduate students.
The tuition for undergraduate students is capped at 12 campus hours while the tuition for graduate students is capped at 9 campus hours (excluding 1st and 2nd year’s School of Pharmacy). Since students are not paying additional tuition for courses added above the tuition cap, they will not receive a reduction in tuition charges during late registration/schedule adjustment when dropping courses if the end result is a tuition assessment at or above the tuition cap. Following late registration/schedule adjustment only complete withdrawals are eligible for refunds.
