Advanced Fitness Testing

Provided by the Marshall University Exercise Physiology Lab in the Henderson Center

With this service, you will gain an in-depth analysis of your current fitness level. This type of fitness testing includes VO2 Max, Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), and a BodPod analysis. Purchases must be made prior to scheduling. Once your purchase is verified, you will be contacted within 24 hours for scheduling.

Pricing for members & non-members:

Bod Pod: $25

The BodPod is a gold standard test that uses air displacement to calculate your body’s composition. This would be the ratio of fatty mass and lean mass.

RMR: $50

Indirect Calorimetry
This test is completed by having the person being tested sit in a chair and breath into a tube. This tube is connected to an RMR (resting metabolic rate) machine. This machine will calculate the heat that one produces from production of CO2 or O2 consumption.

VO2 Max: $95

VO2 max test is typically performed on a bike or treadmill. The test will tell you the maximal amount of oxygen your body can consume during exercise. A higher VO2 max= more “fit”.
