The Marshall Rec Center offers an internship program for several majors. All applicants must be current Marshall students and must meet application deadlines and requirements.
Applications
Internship applications are due on the Sunday after classes begin by 11:59 pm.
- Spring 2021 – January 24, 2021
- Summer 2021 – May 16, 2021
- Fall 2021 – August 29, 2021
To apply for the internship program, please send your updated resume and cover letter to our Associate Director of Programs, Cindi Tscherne at tscherne@marshall.edu
Your cover letter must include the following:
- Future goals in the fitness, recreation or sport management industry or how you plan on utilizing your degree.
Interviews
Interviews will be scheduled the second week of classes and will be conducted by the Associate Directors of Campus Recreation.
The internship will begin on the Monday of the third week of classes.
General Responsibilities
- Attend/complete all new hire training – hours to be counted towards internship.
- Comply with all Campus Recreation facility and employee policies and procedures.
- Attendance:
- Work hours will be set and published on our scheduling platform, Sub It Up.
- Early morning, evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Any changes must be made 24 hours in advance with supervisor.
- If an intern fails to show and does not communicate with their supervisor the internship will be terminated.
- Keep an open line of communication with Professional Staff.
