Welcome Dr. Jian Liu as an Assistant Professor of Safety. Dr. Liu has a master’s and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. Most recently he was a faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston, Texas.
His research interests are in the areas of: Biomechanical mechanisms of slips and falls, Fall risk assessment of the elderly, Fall injury prevention via ambulatory fall event detection technology, Gait analysis (e.g., normal and pathological gait, aging, dynamic stability).
