Welcome to the Department of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering at the College Engineering and Computer Sciences.
With recent rapid advances in computing and computer technology, computers are integrated with every aspect of our lives and Computer Science has become one of the most exciting and dynamic areas. The Department of Computer Sciences and Electrical Engineering offers B.S. in Computer Science (ABET CAC accredited), B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ABET EAC accredited), B.S. in Computer and Information Security, M.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, M.S. in Data Science, M.S. degree in Information Systems, and M.S in Cybersecurity degree programs.
The B.S. and the M.S. degree programs provide an up-to-date curriculum stressing both theory and practice. Students gain knowledge of various computing/IT/Engineering fields and build expertise with excellent technical skills and strong analytical skills well-qualified for a high-paying career in a field in which an unprecedented demand exists. Graduates of the programs will contribute to West Virginia’s economic development, advance its competitive edge globally and contribute to improvement in the quality of people’s life.
Our dedicated faculty with strong academic and industrial experience will spend extra time with students in and out of the classroom to support students in their academic and personal growth. Faculty guide students to hone technical and research skills, as well as communication and leadership skills. In addition, students will have ample opportunities for research and industry experience through research projects and internships.
