Zach Preston will join the NASA 2020 Academy, an intense, multi-disciplinary research program that offers collaboration, teamwork, leadership, innovation, and creativity opportunities.
Zach has invested a great deal of time in robotics as a high school and college student and trained by a leading automotive company in the area of industrial maintenance. This year’s task of NASA 2020 Academy is to create a concept model of a land and air maneuverable vehicle that will be utilized for upcoming Mars missions. He will be working closely with the robotics and mechanical engineering portion of the team to create a conceptual model of a land navigable and flying capable Mars autonomous mission vehicle. The academy program includes invited lecturers on technical subjects, weekly discussions with NASA Flight directors, scientists, engineers, and the use of NASA research facilities.
