Marshall Grad is 2021 WV Merit Award Winner!

“Venus Hong-Brown, CPA, is from Vietnam, and now lives in Charleston, WV. She got her  Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Science (MS) degree from Marshall University, both with a concentration in Accountancy. While at Marshall University, she had two tax internships with Arnett Carbis Toothman LLP (ACT). The knowledge and experience that was obtained during these internships led Venus to find her career path in public accounting. Currently, she is a Senior Tax Associate at ACT. Marshall Grad is 2017 WV Top CPA Exam Scorer!

Paul Koontz, BBA Accounting 2015, MS Accountancy 2016 obtained the top score on the CPA exam in West Virginia in 2017. Achieving the highest score on the CPA exam reflects the dedication and hard work put in by Paul throughout his academics and his preparation for the exam. Paul works as an auditor for Brown Edwards in Charleston, which is among the top 200 CPA firms in the US. We congratulate Paul and look forward to seeing him develop into one of the future leaders of our profession.
