Biography
Profitt is a co-founder of Ortho-HAB, LLC and an associate professor at the Marshall University School of Physical Therapy. He has developed KneeXT, a simple, yet unique medical device designed to aid the patient in the recovery of knee extension and flexion post trauma, injury, or surgery. This innovative technology aims to improve patient outcomes and rehabilitation processes by supporting what the PT is doing in the clinic and maintaining functional gains of motion between visits. It will also empower the patient to have some control of the desired outcome while at home. The product will help to restore functional range of motion and expedite proper heel strike during the cycle of gait/walking. As part of his I-RED project, Profitt hopes to gain insight and training from “been there, done that” professionals, and garner the support needed to push the device across the finish line to the healthcare market and into the patients’ hands.

I believe that each student has a unique set of barriers and hurdles to overcome and I desire to help bridge that gap with my diverse background of academia and clinical expertise. My intent is to use any and all resources available to foster understanding and allow for the application of learning by visual, auditory and kinesthetic processing with each student depending on their individual style of learning. Having completed both traditional and online education, as well as, acquiring several additional certifications I feel I can contribute to the learning process in many ways.
