Our Lady of Fatima Parish School students experienced fun with Marshall University Physics during a recent outreach event with undergraduate students from Marshall University Astronomy Club and Marshall University chapter of the Society of Physics Students.

Thank you to the undergraduate students from the Marshall University Astronomy Club (MUAC) and the Marshall University chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) that put on a small demo show for nearly 60 students at Our Lady of Fatima Parish School! 1st grade, 3rd-5th, and 6th -8th grade students were able to participate. The students got the chance to observe terrestrial objects through a telescope, witness conservation of linear momentum via ethanol-powered rockets & collision carts, they got to feel conservation of angular momentum just like a spinning figure skater does, and more. Everyone had a blast! Special thanks to the outreach team, Devin Culwell (President MUAC & Mathematics major), Diesel Bryant (SPS member and Physics major) and Avery Bowen (MUAC member and Political Science major). Dr. Sean P. McBride from the Mathematics and Physics Department also joined in on the fun! Thank you to all involved that made it happen!
