CFS faculty Billy Gardner presents paper at Cybersecurity Community Symposium

Billy Gardner, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director of the Cyber Forensics and Security, presented a peer-reviewed paper entitled “Cybersecurity Skills Gap by Leveraging Neurodiverse People” at the 2025 CAE in Cybersecurity Community Symposium in Charleston, SC on April 8th. Faculty from NSA-Designated Centers of Academic Excellence Universities and Community Colleges gathered to address the national cybersecurity workforce shortage,​ engage in discussions about faculty shortages, skill gap bridging, and career pathways unique to our community.

He also chaired conference sessions entitled “Changing Undergraduate Cybersecurity Instruction” presented by Dr. Mathew Heath Van Horn of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ and “Computer Squad Detectives: A Digital Forensics Case Exemplifying Social Justice” presented by Denise Dragos of St. John’s University
