Dr. Karen L. Simpkins, is a retired associate professor of anthropology at Marshall University. Her project is a follow-up of ethnographic field research completed for her dissertation 30 years ago in a community given both a fictitious name and location. This ethnographic research focused on the annual all-day-meetin’-and-dinner-on-the-ground and examined changes within three local congregations which had originally been in the same religious association.
