Dr. Lynda Ann Ewen has worked on two projects affiliated with the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Gender in Appalachia (CSEGA). The first, Revisiting Buffalo Creek and Everything In Its Path: Deconstructing An Outsider’s Stereotypes, is a critique of Kai Erikson’s study of Buffalo Creek as Sociology.
The second project is a book series launched by Ohio University Press that challenges the caricature of Appalachians as dumb, backward, and violence-prone hillbillies.
