Project Abstract
The mission statements of Marshall University’s Colleges largely emphasize an interdisciplinary, intercultural, and/or interactive curriculum. With digital technologies permeating the personal and academic lives of our students and ourselves, we faculty members must consider how digital technologies can help us promote the above types of connectivity in our pedagogy. Faculty from COLA and Marshall Libraries seek to address this opportunity through two avenues: 1) the creation of Digital Humanities (DH) programming and courses for instructors and students at Marshall as well as area high schools and 2) the addition of pedagogical materials to the Marshall DH digital repository housed at www.marshall.edu/dh. With the support of the Hedrick Program Grant, we will conduct research and create pedagogical materials on DH for faculty members, as well as raise awareness of this new minor within our University community.
