Artificial Intelligence (AI): Faculty Learning Community Focusing on Pedagogical Impacts and Implications
Many believe that AI is poised to transform teaching and learning. The launch of ChatGPT has had many in higher education responding to AI with both fear and excitement. Some fear that the college writing assignment is dead while others celebrate AI as a drafting tool that can jumpstart the writing process. Should we be using AI in our classes, and should we be prepared for our students to be? Could we use AI in such a way as to support our learning outcomes, and could we teach our students to do the same? How can we craft an approach that supports inclusivity and equitability? This Faculty Learning Community will focus on the “should and could” questions surrounding the role of AI in college courses. Participants will be expected to present their findings at iPed 2024.
This Faculty Learning Community will meet virtually once a month with required asynchronous Teams participation between sessions. Meeting times will be set according to participant schedules after registration closes.
