The Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center empowers manufacturers and makers, moving innovative ideas from concept to market with leading-edge equipment and expertise, while boosting company performance and profitability through skills training and quality implementation initiatives.

Innovation is at the heart of the 4th Avenue Innovation District, a transformational new innovation-led, mixed-use district strategically located between downtown Huntington and Marshall University’s main campus.

Microcredentials offer a targeted and focused approach to learning specific skills. They are designed to provide practical, in-demand skills that can be applied immediately in the workplace or specific professional contexts. This makes them highly relevant and valuable in today’s rapidly evolving job market, where employers often seek candidates with specific skills.

The ACT (Appalachian Climate Technology) Now Coalition (ACT Now) is a collaboration of key West Virginia cities, economic revitalization organizations, leading academic institutions, and private sector innovators that aims to spur job growth in 21 economically distressed and coal-impacted counties in Southern West Virginia by creating a hub of clean energy and green economy jobs.

This event showcases the successes and highlights what is working across the southern part of West Virginia. Each year a mix of community leaders, educators, businesses and public officials come together to network, share ideas and learn what is working well in our state.

The USEPA Brownfields program is a major vehicle for converting derelict land into useful and productive property. The program includes grants for assessment and remediation. It also includes a loan program to encourage site infrastructure development.

Marshall University serves the central and southern twenty-two counties of West Virginia.
