General English Program

Study the English Language in the United States
Program Overview
General English

The General English program is a short-term, non-academic program designed to improve conversational English.

The general purpose of this language program is to provide students with opportunities to enhance their abilities to speak and understand spoken and written English in context of their own cultures and aspects of the culture of the United States.

Students can enroll for 5, 10 or 15 weeks to develop their communication skills for social and professional situations.

Emphasis will be given to listening, speaking, pronunciation, grammar, reading, vocabulary, and non-academic writing activities.

Many classroom activities are interactive, focusing on student pair and group work in order to give students ample opportunity to use English while working to complete tasks together.

This program cannot be used to satisfy Proof of English Proficiency requirements for degree-seeking programs.
