About
Walter Squire received his PhD in English from the University of Tennessee, specializing in American Literature and Critical Theory. Before coming to Marshall in 2010, he taught in Charlotte, North Carolina, for nine years. His research and teaching interests include children’s and fantasy literature (especially The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), film, proletarian literature, and sexuality studies, and he also enjoys international vegetarian cuisine and unusual music of all sorts. He lives in Huntington with his wife Allison and their energetic son. Dr. Squire is our current Director of Film Studies and is often seen as a prestigious judge at our local film festivals.
