FAMs Like You
Our FAM Peer Mentors represent a wide range of students, including students who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, students who come from foster care, students who are neurodivergent, and students who are parents of young children. Each of these student populations enriches our Marshall family.
The default for assigning FAMs is to match the First-Time Full-Time Freshman or new Transfer student with a Peer Mentor in their major. Students can also request to be matched with a FAM who has experience navigating college from any of the fifteen perspectives below:
- Commuter
- E-campus Student (assigned automatically)
- First Gen student
- Homeschooled student
- International student
- Marshall for All Students (assigned automatically)

- Neurodivergent student (a student with autism, ADHD, OCD, someone whose mind works differently)
- Non-traditional student
