Forensic Science Faculty Honored With ASTM International Award

MSFS Students Present Research at National Conference

The 76th Annual Conference of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) was held in Denver, Co last month. AAFS is a multidisciplinary professional organization that provides leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. Two students (pictured) from the Marshall University Forensic Science Graduate Program were selected for oral presentations of their research.
Christopher Haser presented “Development, Testing, and Comparison of Decontamination Methods for Drugs and Ignitable Liquids from Mobile Devices”. Charis Hickey presented her research entitled “A Probabilistic Genotyping Analysis of Touch DNA and Transfer Evidence”.

In addition to the oral presentations, six Marshall MSFS students were selected to give poster presentations. They were Jett Brandes, Charis Hickey, Katelyn Peyton, Madeline Robinson, Allison Swigart, and Jessica Smith.
