Final Project

One of the requirements of FYS is that each student will submit a final project/culminating assignment/summative, authentic assignment (the kind of assignment that requires critical thinking and development on the student’s behalf and is perhaps something they work on all semester or for a substantial period of time – ie. Ideally, not the night before it’s due!).

Formerly that included requiring a student to upload this assignment to GEAR. That essentially required the extra step of going to GEAR, especially for those of us (likely most of us) who already use Blackboard (MUOnline).

Well, no more! There is a way basically to “designate” that assignment in MUOnline by linking it to the learning outcome it targets.

These directions Align-Gen-Ed-Goals-Quick-Guide, provided by the folks in the Instructional Design Center, explain how to label/align an assignment in MUOnline to a learning outcome. For more information, please contact Chris Sochor directly.
