#HerdHired Career Experience Grant

APPLICATION
Deadline: December 4, 2024

Eligibility Requirements

The Office for Career Education is pleased to offer a grant for work-based learning (which can include internships, co-ops, clinicals, research, or other approved experiences) to undergraduate students meeting the minimum requirements and with a competitive application. This experience must take place during the Spring 2025 semester. The award amounts will be based on the number of applications received, level of financial need, and pay status of the work-based learning experience (paid or unpaid). One student from each college will be awarded the grant. This grant cannot be applied to a current or future part-time or full-time permanent job role.
Applications will be reviewed and awarded by the Office of Career Education Campus Council. Awardees will be notified through their Marshall email as soon as the committee has finished the review.

Students previously receiving the grant are not eligible to apply again.

• Applicants must be a degree-seeking currently enrolled Marshall University student during the work-based learning experience.
• Applicants must provide proof from the employer that they have secured the experience (offer letter from the company).
• The experience can be part of an academic program but does not have to be required.
• Experiences secured through a fee-based, internship placement service are not eligible.
• The experience must be a total of 40 or more hours.
• Applicants must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and no current disciplinary actions.
• Application does not guarantee an award. This is a competitive process.
• Application must be completed by the individual receiving the funds. (Incomplete submissions will not be considered).
