College HELP
College HELP fees are based on the number of hours of tutoring/week a student registers for each semester.
1 hour of tutoring per week for the 14-16 week semester
- WV Resident $500/hour
- Metro Student $550/hour
- Non-WV Resident $700.00/hour
If students drop courses or decide they no longer need the hours they signed up for, The HELP Program will credit* students for hours dropped according to the following schedule:
- 100% Credit: Drop by Friday of Week 1 of the semester
- 75% Credit: Drop by Friday of Week 2 of the semester
- 50% Credit: Drop by Friday of Week 3 of the semester
- No credit after the 3rd Friday of the semester
Proper procedures for add/drop of tutoring hours must be followed. See Sara Barker or Diane Williams for information. Tutoring hours added after the beginning of the semester are prorated.
College Summer HELP
Electronic Invoices will be emailed by noreply@clover.com. The invoice will come from the Marshall University Research Corporation with a link to pay your current HELP Program fees.

Summer Prep Program
New students to Marshall and HELP are automatically enrolled in our 6-week Summer Prep Program. Should you need to opt out, please notify Amy Moffat Jones-Burdick (jones910@marshall.edu). The Summer Prep Program is $3,000. Tuition and housing plans are not included.
Community HELP Program
Upon admission, Community HELP students will complete a $75 intake assessment with Coordinator, Laura Rowden. Students must also commit to at least 2 forty-five-minute sessions/week at $40/session with their dedicated Learning Specialist.
ACT/SAT Prep Course
The ACT/SAT Prep course is $350 per student. Courses run for one month on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Or ask about our 6-day Summer Bootcamp! There is a $50 non-refundable deposit due at registration.

Financial Assistance:
- The Marshall Student Financial Aid office can consider HELP costs when calculating student aid offers. Please alert our business manager if you would like more information.
- A limited number of scholarships are available through the HELP Program for College HELP, Community HELP, Diagnostic HELP, and Medical HELP based on need. College students are eligible for consideration every two semesters. See our Scholarships page for more information.
- The Marshall HELP Program works with in-state and out-of-state Division of Rehabilitation Services/Vocational Rehabilitation services to cover College HELP Program fees. For West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation supports, check out https://wvdrs.org/.
Payment Options
The Marshall HELP Program uses Clover for electronic payment options. Invoices will be emailed by noreply@clover.com and will come from the Marshall University Research Corporation with a link to pay your current HELP Program fees. The message reads: You have an invoice from Marshall Unv Rsrch Cor. Credit card transactions come with a 2.5% fee.
