Job Description:

This position is responsible for the development, support, and management of key IT applications such as the University ERP, web sites, as well as the support and maintenance of many other servers, applications, and single sign-on solutions that support and enhance the Marshall University’s users’ community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide leadership role to IT staff, assist IT Management in deploying IT solutions in an efficient manner.
• Server maintenance, and configuration
• Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, and MySQL database skills, analysis and SQL development
• Infrastructure skills: Linux, Windows Server, llS, Apache, Tomcat configuration and deployment
• Performing or serving lead role when complex design, analysis, development, installation, and maintenance is required for support and/or expansion of applications.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 5 years of database management system development experience, specifically in the use of the SQL Language and tools.
Must be familiar with architecture and management our relational database platforms (Oracle 11g/12c, MS SQLServer, and/or MySQL), including awareness of advanced database functions such as replication, backup, database tuning, and features of the target RDBMS. Application management and configuration skills involving Word press and/or Sharepoint a plus. Proven ability to provide the highest levels of interpersonal communications with sensitivity to understanding the demands of a higher education environment; excellent customer service, problem solving, and leadership skills.
