Kirtner is the co-founder and CEO of Kindred Communications, a company that boasts six radio stations and is the flagship for Marshall sports broadcasts. A member of the West Virginia Broadcasting Hall of Fame, Kirtner was the recipient of the Distinguished Service to Marshall University Award in 2019.
