The LEAD Center supports the academic mission of the institution by creating a vibrant co-curricular Marshall Student Experience. This is achieved through the incorporation of outside the classroom programming, mentorship, educational activities, community engagement opportunities, and leadership development. We empower our students to become active in campus organizations so they may learn, grow, and achieve success beyond their collegiate experience.

Homecoming
Every year students, faculty, staff, and alumni unite in green and white to commemorate a university, a family, and a home at Marshall University. Homecoming celebrates the HERD spirit through a variety of events occurring the week leading up to the Homecoming football game. The signature events of the week are the annual Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally.
We hope you join the Marshall family and help continue to foster the tradition of community celebration that Homecoming fosters. To learn about the festivities visit the Homecoming website.

Student Organizations
With over 240 student organizations, the LEAD Center provides a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved. Student organizations have a significant impact in providing effective learning environments for students, preparing them to live and work in a global community.
In addition to building lasting friendships, student organizations provide many benefits including serving as a medium for academic discourse, personal growth, leadership development, intercultural understanding and community engagement. Moreover, research suggests that involved students tend to perform better academically and are more likely to graduate when compared with their non-involved peers
