The Truist Center for Leadership at Marshall University Lewis College of Business hosted a Financial Wellness Workshop on Thursday, November 2, 2023. This event was organized by Dr. Monisha Gupta, Director of the Truist Center for Leadership. There were two sessions: one held from 9:30-10:45 and another from 11-12:30. We were delighted that more than 70 students attended this event.
Students had the honor of hearing from Financial Wellness Leader Joshua Juckett who is an experienced resource on financial planning. Mr. Juckett works with the community on behalf of Truist Bank to assist individuals in cultivating financial preparedness for a secure and stable future. In addition, Mr. Joshua Scott, Market President/Senior Vice President of commercial banking for Truist Bank also joined the session to handle direct inquiries regarding use of banking tools such as credit cards. Their valuable insights allowed the event to be a tremendous success.
The event featured invaluable knowledge on financial planning, equipping students with essential information regarding their finances such as budgeting, investing and debt management. This event served as a pivotal moment, leading the students towards a secure financial future. Beyond education, the workshop facilitates meaningful connections, allowing students to network with like-minded peers.
The Truist Center for Leadership was thrilled with the positive response the workshop received and our speakers’ valuable insights. They are confident that the workshop has equipped students with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve their financial goals and emerge as effective leaders in the future.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Amanda Thompson-Abbott for inspiring active student participation and co-creating experiential learning in the Financial Wellness Workshop
The Truist Center for Leadership is pleased to report that students actively engaged in the workshop, demonstrating a keen interest in their financial well-being and future success.
