The Truist Center for Leadership and Truist Bank recently joined hands to host a Financial Wellness Workshop on February 23, 2023. The event was organized by Dr. Monisha Gupta, Director, Truist Center for Leadership , with the primary purpose of promoting financial literacy and success among students who aspire to become successful leaders of tomorrow. We were thrilled to see over 50 students attend the workshop, displaying an active interest in their financial well-being and impending accomplishments.
The workshop was a resounding success, thanks to the invaluable insights and expertise of our esteemed speakers from Truist Bank, including Mr. Joshua Juckett, Mr. Joshua Scott, and Mr. Chris Massie. Mr. Joshua Juckett is the Community Financial Wellness Leader, responsible for expanding the growth of financial literacy across the state. Mr. Joshua Scott is the Market President/Senior Vice President for Truist Bank, where he leads the commercial team in the greater Huntington area and the southern coalfields of WV. Mr. Chris Massie is an Assistant VP and Branch Leader at Huntington.
The speakers’ presentations were focused on helping students plan their finances better and become more successful in applying these learnings to become the leaders of tomorrow. The workshop provided students with the necessary tools and resources to manage their finances effectively, such as budgeting, investing, and managing debt. Moreover, the event served as an excellent platform for networking and building relationships with other like-minded students interested in their financial well-being and future success.
Overall, we are delighted with the positive response the workshop received and grateful to our speakers for sharing their proficiency and visions with the students. We trust that the workshop has equipped the students with the knowledge and tools they need to realize their financial goals and become effective leaders of tomorrow.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Amanda Thompson Abbott for motivating and encouraging active student participation in the Financial Wellness Workshop. Her insights on student learning were invaluable and helped structure a more engaging presentation, which was well-received by the students.
We are also pleased to report that the students participated enthusiastically in the workshop and displayed a keen interest in their financial well-being and future success. Additionally, our esteemed speakers from Truist Bank generously gave out gifts to the attendees, which was greatly appreciated.
