Our program works with a diverse population of students, but over the years we have noticed they often share certain characteristics. You may see yourself reflected in some of the following:
- Unprepared for the volume and pace of a medical and professional school curriculum
- Find that study sessions are often long, boring, and unproductive
- Have difficulty connecting the details with the “big picture”
- Rely on repetition for majority of study – read, reread, repeat
- Experience difficulty with recall of key information during exams
- Often rush to complete all questions on an exam
- Struggle with time management and organization resulting in both academic and personal difficulties
- May struggle with stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem
- Exhibit learning difficulties that were not obvious earlier in academic career
- Often struggle with undiagnosed Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Specific Learning Disorder (SLD)
- Have lost confidence as a student
- Always seem to be the last person in the library with little to no measurable increase in exam performance
