Cayuse Sponsored Projects (SP)

The proposal record form in Cayuse Sponsored Projects (SP) serves as a critical component of the research administration process at the Marshall University Research Corporation. Before grant submission, the proposal record form must be fully routed with all necessary approvals signifying that internal institutional approval was given to submit on behalf of Marshall University.

The transition to Cayuse SP and utilizing its proposal record form brings about a transformative shift in how the research community will manage proposal submissions, offering numerous advantages:

  • Replacing Old PDF Routing Forms: No more cumbersome PDFs to fill out and pass around. With Cayuse SP, you’ll work with a user-friendly web application that streamlines the entire proposal submission process.
  • Automated Notifications and Routing: Say goodbye to chasing signatures! Cayuse SP automates notifications and routing, ensuring that your proposal moves smoothly through the approval process without any delays.
  • Messaging Within the Platform: Need to collaborate with colleagues? Cayuse SP lets you send messages and collaborate directly within the platform, keeping all communication organized and accessible.
  • Enhanced Tracking and System of Record: Keep tabs on your proposal’s progress with enhanced tracking features. Cayuse SP serves as an effective system of record, storing all proposal-related information in one centralized location for easy access and reference.
  • Immediate Visibility for MURC Administrators: No more waiting for email updates. With Cayuse SP, MURC Administrators have immediate visibility into proposal statuses, eliminating unnecessary wait times and speeding up the approval process.
  • Streamlined Approvals: With Cayuse SP, approvals are streamlined, allowing you to focus more on developing your grant project rather than navigating administrative hurdles.

This is a quick step guide on how to approve PI’s Proposal Record Forms. Access here.
Once a proposal enters routing, the PI and Co-PIs will be required to certify the information included in the proposal form and contained in the documents attached to the form. Each PI/Co‐PI in the routing chain will receive an email message that contains a direct link to certify the proposal. Use this step-by-step guide to learn how to certify. Access here.

Cayuse System to System (S2S)

Cayuse S2S enables researchers to submit proposals directly from Cayuse SP to funding agencies’ electronic systems or portals. This direct integration streamlines the submission process, eliminating the need for manual data entry or reformatting of proposals. Researchers can submit their proposals efficiently, saving time and reducing the risk of errors. Note: Some Grants.gov submission may not go through Cayuse S2S, so please check with your grant officer to see if your proposal is eligible.

This training will show you how Cayuse S2S will streamline your Grants.gov submissions through a step-by-step tutorial.
