Students in the Opera Workshop in Marshall University’s School of Music will go to Cox Landing Elementary to perform Children’s Opera “Little Red Riding Hood” by Seymour Barab this month.
The Marshall University School of Music will host a Chamber Choir Invitational on Saturday, April 13, in Smith Recital Hall on the Huntington campus. High school choral ensembles are encouraged to attend and will have an opportunity to perform for a panel of adjudicators who will provide comments on each selection performed.
Marshall University’s School of Music will celebrate music from the time of John Marshall during a trio recital performed by faculty at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Studio 143 of Smith Music Hall. The recital is free and open to the public.

Marshall University’s opera program, Opera at Marshall, will present the children’s opera “Little Red Riding Hood” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Smith Recital Hall. Free and open to the public, the opera is appropriate for children ages 4 and older and lasts about 45 minutes.
The Marshall Wind Symphony will present its final performance of the semester, “An Evening with Friends,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Smith Recital Hall. Under the direction of Dr. Adam Dalton, the concert will feature several guests and regional premieres of new music.
The Marshall University School of Music will present “Love for Viola!” with guest artist Dr. Tuba Özkan from Mersin University in Turkey.
Marshall University’s School of Music will present “Pastiche: A Violauta Duo Recital” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Jomie Jazz Forum on Marshall’s Huntington campus.
