The Master of Arts in Music degree offers graduate students the option of studying Jazz, Music Education (Online), Music History and Literature, Music Performance, or Music Composition.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the School of Music, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent.
- An undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, with no grade lower than a C in any music course.
- Perform an audition or submit a video audition (Jazz Studies, Performance) or submit additional application materials. (Composition, Education, Music History)
Application Process
- Apply to the School of Music by the deadline for your intended term of study.
- Apply to Marshall University.
- Submit your scholarship and/or graduate assistantship application if you want to be considered for an award.
- Prepare your audition (Jazz Studies, Music Performance,) or submit your additional required application materials (Composition, Music Education, Music History & Literature).
- Schedule your Audition or submit your audition video.
