The eight committees will comprise a diverse group of experts who are being charged with making policy recommendations to the governor-elect.
Transition chairman Larry Puccio said, “Each policy committee is made up of respected experts who care deeply about the future of West Virginia. These committees will generate policy proposals for the new administration. The goal is to generate good policy ideas from West Virginians on the front lines.”

The policy committees will meet for the first time Thursday in Charleston. Marshall and West Virginia University are working with the governor-elect’s transition team to facilitate the meetings and will compile the findings for the incoming administration.
Ormiston also is serving as transition policy committee co-coordinator, along with West Virginia University Provost Joyce McConnell.
