MU to host annual West Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics conference next week

Marshall University will be the hosting location for the annual state conference for the West Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (WVAND), with events occurring on the Huntington campus and in the community Wednesday, May 10, through Saturday, May 13.

The 75th Gala and Awards Banquet will take place 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, at the Marshall University Visual Arts Center, according to Jessica Walden, communications and membership chair for WVAND.

“Marshall University is honored to host the annual conference since 2017 marks 75 years that West Virginia has been an affiliate of the national Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics,” Walden said. “Past and present presidents and members of the WVAND will be in attendance with awards and special recognitions to be presented in the celebration.

A pre-conference workshop sponsored by the American Dairy Association Mideast, Marshall University Department of Dietetics, Cabell Huntington Hospital Nutrition Services and the Facing Hunger Food Bank will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10. The event will begin at the Facing Hunger Foodbank and proceed to Huntington’s Kitchen.
