Green and White Day Open House event coming up Nov. 12

Share
Marshall University will host its second Green and White Day event of the fall on Monday, Nov. 12.

The open house format puts a special focus on giving high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to learn more about every academic major on campus. After registration, a welcome to the Huntington campus, and a session focused on admission and financial aid information, prospective students will visit the Marshall Recreation Center for an academic showcase.

There they will have the opportunity to visit with representatives from each of Marshall’s academic programs.

Students also will get the opportunity to tour the campus, visit residence halls and eat lunch in the Harless Dining Hall or the Memorial Student Center.

Marshall Provost Dr. Jaime Taylor says the university is focused on the Green and White Day experience.

“Our Green and White Day events are a great opportunity for high school students to discover all that Marshall University has to offer,” Taylor said. “Students and their families will be able to speak to award-winning faculty, one on one, and learn more about exciting academic majors and careers they may not have previously considered.”

While on campus, students also will hear from Marshall President Dr. Jerome A. Gilbert and Student Government Association President Hunter Barclay and Vice President Hannah Petracca.

Michael Martina is from Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the last Green and White Day on Oct. 12.

“Honestly, I only scheduled to be at Green and White Day in October because I was in the area, but I think I’ve found my new #1 choice. Never been at a campus as welcoming as Marshall,” Martina said.

High school seniors can apply for admission to Marshall at the event and have the application fee waived. And if they are already admitted, they can submit their enrollment deposit to receive an exclusive #OneOfTheHerd sweatshirt.

The third and final Green and White Day of the fall will take place Saturday, Dec. 1. Students can register for the Nov. 12 or Dec. 1 Green and White Days by visiting www.marshall.edu/recruitment/tour-our-campus.
