“I am grateful and humbled to receive this award,” Brazeau said. “UB’s School of Pharmacy is a special place that continues to shape my professional and personal life. My interactions with world-class scientists, other students and postdoctoral fellows continually challenged me to think critically and advance science.”
Brazeau graduated from UB’s School of Pharmacy in 1989. Her career has spanned more than 35 years in pharmacy education at the University of Houston, the University of Florida, the University at Buffalo, the University of New England and Marshall University since 2018. Brazeau has received many other awards including the 2020 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Robert K. Chalmers Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award. She is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and several other professional pharmacy organizations.
Brazeau’s scholarly interests focus on curricular assessment, student learning and the biochemical and toxicological interactions of drugs, excipients and diseases with skeletal muscle. She is author or coauthor on more than 75 peer-reviewed papers, chapters and books.
Brazeau has been the editor of the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education since 2014 and prior to this, was the associate editor for ten years. She is on the editorial boards of Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, PharmSciTech, AAPS Journal, National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science, and the Journal of Healthcare Leadership – Honorary Editorial Board.
