The topic of the slideshow and panel discussion is “From Restrictive Covenants to Redlining: An Interdisciplinary Art and Social Sciences Investigation of Housing Practices in 20th Century Working-Class Huntington, West Virginia, and Dayton, Ohio.”
Featured panelists will include Dr. Cicero M. Fain III, a visiting diversity scholar and assistant provost for inclusive excellence at Marshall; Dr. Jacqueline Housel, professor of geography at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio; and Sarah McDermott, assistant professor of printmaking at Marshall.
The presentation is an extension of Fain’s inaugural lecture in August on his book, Black Huntington: An Appalachian Story, and is part of the quality initiative’s overall first-year theme, Complexities of Identity.
