Share
The Physician Assistant program at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine is now accepting applications for its inaugural class, which begins in January 2021.

“Physician assistants are one of the fastest growing professions in the country,” said program director Ginger Boles, M.S., P.A.-C. “We are excited to start educating and training these individuals who will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients in primary and specialty care settings.”

The Physician Assistant program will include both didactic and clinical components and take approximately 28 months to complete. According to the American Academy of Physician Assistants, 75 percent of physician assistants receive multiple job offers upon graduation.

Applications must be submitted online through Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (https://caspa.liaisoncas.com/) and verified by Oct. 1, 2020. Applicants selected for on-campus interviews will be scheduled from August through November of 2020.

**Marshall University Physician Assistant Program has applied for Accreditation – Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Marshall University anticipates matriculating its first class in January of 2021, pending achieving Accreditation – Provisional status at the June of 2020 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation – Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.  The Marshall University Physician Assistant Program will not commence in the event provisional accreditation is not received.
